What the funk?!

Well needless to say things have been a bit funky. Energy has definitely been weird in my world. I don't want to delve into politics, but I will say that I'm still trying to process my emotions. It's a blend of passion, anger, sadness, loss, and a determination to keep fighting for my beliefs. These fears are all too familiar to me. I grew up in a world that felt threatened by similar agendas. I recall being 6 years old, afraid of my family being deported, and the lengthy process of my parents' becoming citizens. I feel the hurt and fear of my family and good friends who have struggled to be accepted in a society that often rejects the LGBTQI+ community. I worry about what might affect my children's education and health. I fear agendas that could aim to suppress women, not just medically, but in all aspects. Overall, my heart aches, yet it also burns with determination, showing no sign of giving up.

Considering all of this, I am putting in extra effort to highlight and empower women-owned businesses from BIPOC, LGBTQI+, and Latinx communities. My goal is to support them by directly utilizing their products and services. I am leveraging my voice and opportunities to feature them at vendor events and on my social media. I firmly believe that even the smallest voice and gesture can have a tremendous impact on someone else.

If any of this resonates with you or if you're curious about how you can contribute to making a difference, I invite you to join me. Seek opportunities to assist within your communities, research companies and products more deeply, support local businesses, and remember to share, comment on, or review their offerings. Extend a helping hand (or a listening ear!) to those who need it.

In that sense - if you have purchased or received any of my products, I am offering 10% off a future purchase if you leave a review on My Shop page. Once posted, you should receive an email with your code :)

So, despite this funk...Here are my 3 high points vs 1 low point

  1. Low - my best friend lost his father recently and I've felt powerless in how I can show up for him since he lives out of state

  2. High #1 - I was able to send my best friend a food gift card, so I know he at least eats something during these hard days, and I donated to their GoFundMe to help raise money for the cremation.

  3. High #2 - I felt validated by my doctor at a recent appointment

  4. High #3 - My hair is finally growing out of its awkward stage haha (troubles of having a pixie)

Take care friends. I am always here if you need one :)
